Welcome to a great start to the 2011-2012 school year!
I want to take this opportunity to welcome you, briefly introduce myself and express my excitement about working with you this year. I love teaching reading because reading is the door to many things that will lead to success in your life. I believe that you as students can grow and develop by working hard and uncovering the content in this class. The main goal of this course is to develop into a better reader as well as becoming a life long reader. Over the course of this year, we will tackle many different texts, find ways to make sense of what we read, explore ways to stay motivated, increase your vocabulary, and hopefully fall in love with reading or at least like reading a little more than you did when you walked in the first day.
Additional information about the class is provided in the syllabus attached to this page. Please read that syllabus and sign the detachable potion on the bottom of this note in order to indicate your understanding and support of the classroom system. There is also space provided for you to express any questions, concerns or comments. Students should return that portion to me by September 6th/7th .
